In the 1970's the Sterling Beer Company was once considered a regional institution throughout the southeastern United States and the Kentucky-based brewing company enjoyed a large and devoted following before closing its doors in 1990. Renowned for not only its beer but also its innovative promotions associated with the Kentucky Derby and its greatest heroes the Sterling Brand is fondly remembered by many generations of beer enthusiasts and memorabilia collectors. With the recent popularity of the craft beer market the Sterling Brand has once again been revived, continuing its longstanding brewing tradition and popular commemorative packaging.
In the spring of 2016, Sterling debuted the inaugural release in its new Sterling Greats series with none other than Secretariat as the center of attention on the characteristic red, white, and blue limited edition can and packaging. While federal alcohol laws prohibit us from selling the actual beer, we are proud to exclusively offer a very limited supply of the accompanying promotional and very collectible glass.
The Sterling Greats Secretariat Glass is unique in itself with its distinctive shape and colors mimicking an actual Sterling beer can. Measuring 5 1/4" tall, the 11 oz glass features the Sterling logo and the Meadow Stable silks on a white matte backdrop along with two vertical side columns featuring Secretariat's connections and 1973 track record Triple Crown times.
