The Secretariat Festival is pleased to offer this Spendthrift Farm to our Saturday's offerings. Queen Elizabeth II once visited this picturesque farm to behold Triple Crown winners Seattle Slew and Affirmed, who stood at this famed breeding and racing operation for a time.
This year, Festival-goers also will receive the royal treatment with the opportunity to visit Spendthrift's impressive stallion roster, which includes two of Secretariat’s most popular current descendants — America’s leading sire Into Mischief and 2020 Secretariat "Vox Populi" Award winner Authentic. Other notable stallions include Goldencents and promising young sires Omaha Beach, Vino Rosso and Mitole. The tour features a visit to the farm's noteworthy breeding shed featuring the myriad of nameplates for the great champions who were conceived there. The farm is also the final resting place for Nashua and Raise A Native, among other distinguished stallions.
This limited-seating tour departs the Kentucky Horse Park via motor coach on Saturday at 12:45 p.m. and returns at 2:00 p.m. -- in time to catch more of the Festival's afternoon activities. All Spendthrift Farm tour participants will receive a complimentary gift as a keepsake of their visit.
PLEASE NOTE: TOUR TICKETS WILL NOT BE MAILED. Please arrive for check-in at Visitor Center entrance 10 minutes prior to departure. For more information, please call (502) 473-1036.
