The Hanover Tavern is one of only a few surviving colonial-era taverns in the United States and has served renowned figures in American history, including George Washington and Patrick Henry, as well as both Confederate and Union troops during the Civil War.
The Big Red Breakfast begins at 9:00 am and offers gracious hospitality in a warm, historic setting along with an exceptional culinary experience featuring a sumptuous Southern-style buffet featuring French toast, scrambled eggs, fresh fruit salad, white cheddar grits, applewood smoked bacon, sausage and miniature muffins. Following the breakfast, Leeann Ladin and Kate Chenery Tweedy, will host the insightful Chenery Family Tour departing Ashland via private motorcoach that will feature a stop at family patriarch Christopher Chenery's childhood home and will culminate with a visit to the final resting place of Penny Chenery, where guests can pay their respect to the luminary "Mistress of the Meadow."
