Omaha Beach, a million-dollar earner, was the winner of the 2019 Rebel Stakes and Arkansas Derby at Oaklawn Park. In both races with Hall of Fame jockey Mike Smith aboard, the talented fourth generation grandson of Secretariat was victorious over stellar fields and emerged as a major Kentucky Derby contender. Racing fans were disappointed during the week leading up to the Run for the Roses to learn this morning-line favorite was scratched to treat a breathing issue.
In his much-awaited return to the track Saturday, Omaha Beach captured the Santa Anita Sprint Championship Stakes reestablishing his reputation as one of the nation’s best 3 year olds.
This recently worn leather halter displays the nicks and wear one would expect to see on tack worn by the talented colt. The halter emanates directly from the barn of trainer Richard Mandella and was graciously donated to the Festival Auction by Fox Hill Farm owner Rick Porter.
Auction ends tonight at 8:00 p.m. EST
