"Lonely at the Top" Panoramic Photo

The rare air breathed only at the pinnacle of success is on display here as Secretariat with jockey Ron Turcotte aboard are captured accelerating out of the wide sweep of the far turn of Belmont Park and into the homestretch in the 1973 Belmont Stakes. The detailed panoramic photo from the New York Racing Association archives features the talented Meadow Stable colt isolated on the lead amidst the expansive backdrop of "Big Sandy," offering a glimpse of why the the third jewel in the Triple Crown is called "the test of the champion."

With the field fading into the distance, surrrendering to Secretariat's ever-expanding lead which would ultimately reach a record-breaking 31-lengths, the vintage image captures the champ with all four feet off the ground as he approaches the striped quarter pole, 1/4 mile from the finish of the contest and the birth of a racing legend.

Offered for the first time in the panoramic 5" x 15" size or the lavish collectors edition measuring 12" x 36" available with the option of being hand-signed by Secretariat's jockey Ron Turcotte.
