  The Secretariat Day-Fest is incredibly fortunate to include this very special farm tour in our slate of activities. Hill 'n' Dale is perhaps the most beautiful horse farm in Kentucky and often called "the Biltmore of the Bluegrass." This storied breeding and training facility located in Paris, Kentucky on the former grounds of Xalapa Farm traces its history all the way back to 1827. The magnificent Bourbon County property also has decades-long ties to the Chenery and Hancock families. It bred Hildene, the blue hen mare who produced the Meadow Stable's own 1950 Horse of the Year Hill Prince as well as champion First Landing, sire of Riva Ridge. The farm also served as the training facility for Buckpasser, Ruffian, Dahlia and Wajima, and its scenic grounds were part of the set location for the Hollywood film "Seabiscuit." Today, Hill 'n' Dale at Xalapa features a renowned stallion roster that includes two-time Horse of the Year Curlin, leading sire Ghostzapper, 2013 Secretariat "Vox Populi" Award winner Mucho Macho Man, and the promising newcomers Good Magic and Charlatan. The Hill ‘n’ Dale at tour is offered in two options, with start times noted below. * 12:30 p.m. Stallion Tour, where fans can see and learn more about the Farm’s prolific sires. This tour will last approximately 60 minutes. * 12:45 p.m. Xalapa Hidden Gems Tour, offering the full Stallion Tour as well as an expanded privately guided behind-the-scenes shuttle tour showcasing the many rarely seen attractions of this historic property. Allow approximately 2 hours for the Xalapa Hidden Gems Tour. All Hill 'n' Dale at Xalapa Tour participants will receive a complimentary gift as a keepsake of their visit. Don't miss this opportunity to visit this remarkable Bluegrass treasure! PLEASE NOTE: Tour-goers can proceed directly to Hill ’n' Dale at Xalapa via their own transportation or catch the complimentary shuttle bus departing from downtown Paris at approximately 11:45 a.m. There is no physical ticket for the tour. For those who prefer to drive directly to the farm, Hill ‘n’ Dale at Xalapa is located 15 minutes outside of Paris.
