We are proud to announce the newest release in the Secretariat "Vox Populi" Award series of artwork by artist Jaime Corum featuring 2019 winner Bricks and Mortar.
Bricks and Mortar, sired by prominent stallion Giant's Causeway and a third generation grandson of Secretariat, was undefeated in 2019, winning six times in as many starts at six different race courses across the nation.
After being sidelined for 14 months with a neuro-muscular condition that left him barely able to gallop, Bricks and Mortar staged a comeback campaign for the ages that included wins in the prestigious Pegasus World Cup Turf Invitational, the Manhattan Stakes, the Arlington Million, and the Longines Breeders’ Cup Turf Championship. His triumphant return to racing attracted a fan following that grew with each victorious run.
This stately portrait captures the handsome contours of Bricks and Mortar in near profile, depicting the handsome bay and his distinctive white blaze well known to his racing competitors and fans alike. Of special note is the mesmerizing detail Corum brings to his inquisitive and intelligent eye.
