In 1972 and 1973, Bob Coglianese had the good fortune to be the official track photographer for the New York Racing Association where he captured the historic campaign of Secretariat as he dramatically stamped his imprint on Thoroughbred racing in America. Secretariat raced in New York in 16 of his 21 career starts, and we offer Mr. Coglianese's iconic image of the great champion that embedded Secretariat's legacy into the consciousness of the American public -- the 31-length record breaking victory to claim the 1973 Triple Crown.

This is the defining image of Secretariat putting the exclamation point over his distant challengers to win the 1973 Belmont Stakes. The photo captures the dramatic moment when jockey Ron Turcotte looks over his shoulder at the electronic timer, just before Secretariat crossed the finish line. Unlike imitations and second-generation copies, this authentic photo is produced from the original negative in the photographer's personal collection. The 20" x 24" size photo was produced exclusively for the Secretariat team, and it is triple hand-signed by jockey Ron Turcotte, owner Penny Chenery, and the photographer himself. Measures approximately 28" x 32" total in a double-matted classic black hardwood frame with solid brass engraved haltertag plate and includes Certificate of Authenticity.
