Secretariat's third career win and first stakes victory. The Sanford Stakes at Saratoga Race Course was run on August 16, 1972 and extended Secretariat's winning streak in fine form as he cruised to a three length victory.

With jockey Ron Turcotte aboard and wearing number "5", the mighty chestnut is shown in the winners circle joined for the first time by owner Penny Chenery and trainer Lucien Laurin. Other photo members include groom Mordecai Williams holding the shank while Peter Sanford Wood makes the trophy presentation.

It is interesting to note that the Sanford would be Secretariat's only race where he was not the betting favorite, that distinction going to second place finisher Linda's Chief. Available with the option of being hand-signed by Ron Turcotte. Measures 8" x 10", larger sizes by special request.
