As part of the Meadow's Secretariat Birthday Celebration, we will once again be showcasing a selection of rare memorabilia and signed photography for auction during the weekend festivities to benefit the Historic Meadow Barn Restoration Fund.
Items in the weekend's on-site Silent Auction which are available for bidding now via our absentee proxy bid service include an original Penny Chenery watercolor painting - the first ever to be auctioned, and a coveted triple-signed and framed Secretariat 31-Length Photo.
Highlighting the auction is a pair of original sterling silver trophies from the Meadow Stable Archives that were won by the homebred fillies Queen's Double in the 1968 Demoiselle Stakes at Aqueduct and Gay Matelda in the 1968 Jersey Belle Stakes at Garden State Park. The pieces are being auctioned in recognition of the 50th anniversary of those races, and they are now available for online bidding via eBay through April 1.
A historic offering representing the first racing trophies ever to be consigned for auction by the Chenery family and the Meadow blue bloodline ties they share with 1973 Triple Crown winner Secretariat.
Trophy Auction ends Sunday, April 1 at 9:00 p.m. EST
