

An authentic shoe and halter worn by the late Coronado's Quest. The spirited Coronado's Quest compiled $2,046,190 in earnings while racing against the best in his generation in 1997 and 1998 in the colors of the Janney family of Ruffian fame. Coronado's Quest was a multiple-stakes winner, taking the prestigious Travers Stakes as well as the Haskell, Wood Memorial, Remsen, Dwyer, Nashua, and Riva Ridge Stakes. He also set a track record for 6.5 furlongs at Aqueduct winning the Cowdin Stakes in a blistering 1:14.35. The progeny of Coronado's Quest earned 8.7 million dollars and he sired 14 stakes winners including three-time grade 1 winner Society Selection.
The shoe and halter were obtained from Claiborne Farm on September 9, 1999 by Claiborne employee Gus Koch. The shoe rests on a solid walnut wood plaque with corresponding brass nameplate. The leather halter with polished brass nameplate is in excellent condition.
