September 28-29 marks the date for the 2012 renewal of the Secretariat Bourbon County Festival. Conceived as a way to honor the 1973 Triple Crown winner and Central Kentucky's most famous equine resident, this year the Festival was bigger and better than ever, hosting a wide range of activities for all ages. Located at the Bourbon County Fairgrounds in historic Paris, Kentucky, the festival featured equine demonstrations & competitions, art, craft and memorabilia fair, archival race film viewing, celebrity autograph signing featuring the Meadow Stable team, silent auction, and a variety of food and entertainment.
A Festival favorite event are the tours of historic Claiborne Farm where Secretariat is buried. We are pleased to begin taking reservations now for scheduled tours to the farm on Saturday, September 29th.
